The Standing Committee on Diversity & Inclusion will be holding its 2017 Diversity Symposium on Nov. 9-10 in Orlando. As the Symposium planning is getting underway, 2017-18 American Bar Association President Hillarie Bass has agreed to be the keynote speaker.

Break-out sessions on specific diversity topics are being scheduled and the planning team wants to make sure to consider the issues that are relevant to voluntary bar association members – if not in the 2017 Diversity Symposium, then in future events. Also, they are asking VBAs to share recommendations for diversity speakers that have been used in local diversity programming who have inspired your members.

Please send your suggestions about topics and speakers to Susan Healy (susanrhealy@hotmail.com or call her on her cell at 239-218-0278). You may also send suggestions to Arnell Bryant-Willis at abryant-willis@floridabar.org.

And finally, please ask your members to save the date: Nov. 9-10 in Orlando. Stay tuned for more info!
