Lands, Wildlife, and Oceans

Earthjustice is seeking an experienced Staff Attorney to join its Florida Regional Office in Miami.  The position will build our capacity to protect lands, oceans and wildlife in Florida and the region.  Earthjustice typically litigates these issues in federal court, but our work also encompasses state court litigation and administrative advocacy.  The Staff Attorney will be based in Miami and collaborate with colleagues in the Tallahassee office, as well as with program staff dedicated to work on lands, oceans and wildlife throughout Earthjustice.

Earthjustice is the nation’s premier nonprofit environmental law organization.  We take on the biggest, most precedent-setting cases across the country.  We wield the power of law and the strength of partnership to protect people’s health; to preserve magnificent places and wildlife; to advance clean energy; and to combat climate change.  We partner with thousands of groups, supporters, individuals and communities to engage the critical environmental issues of our time and bring about positive change.  We are here because the earth needs a good lawyer.

Founded in 1971, Earthjustice has a distinguished track record of achieving significant, lasting environmental protections.  We achieve this by hiring those who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment for all.  Our headquarters are in San Francisco with offices across the U.S., including Anchorage, Juneau, Los Angeles, Honolulu, New York, Philadelphia, Denver, Seattle, Bozeman and Washington, D.C.

For nearly thirty years, Earthjustice’s Florida Regional Office has fought to protect and restore Florida’s waters for the benefit of the people, ecosystems and wildlife that depend on them.  Earthjustice’s Oceans Program works throughout the country and the world to protect ocean ecosystems; safeguard imperiled marine life; prevent the expansion of offshore drilling; and build resiliency against climate change.  To learn more about recent Oceans cases in Florida, click here (coral reefs) and here (oil drilling).  To learn more about Earthjustice’s work to protect public lands and wildlife, visit http://earthjustice.org/the-wild.
