TENANTS’ RIGHTS ATTORNEY OPENING

Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., (Legal Services) is accepting applications from attorneys admitted to the Florida Bar who have a commitment and passion for social, economic, and racial justice and want to protect the rights of low‐income residents living in Miami‐Dade and Monroe Counties.

The Tenants’ Rights Project provides legal representation for tenants living primarily in public and federally subsidized housing. Attorneys in the Project represent tenants in state and federal court, administrative proceedings, and appeals. The attorney would be responsible for his or her own caseload. The attorney’s duties include drafting pleadings, conducting depositions, negotiating with opposing parties, and representing tenants in court. This project involves significant litigation, however, the attorney would also be required to conduct client intake, conduct home visits, attend community education events, and client outreach.

Spanish or Haitian Creole language capability is preferred but not required. Excellent benefit package and salary. Submit an application consisting of a cover letter detailing your interest in the position, resume, writing sample and references to PositionApps@legalservicesmiami.org.
