Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Attorney to be the backbone of our team. You will be responsible for the coordination of all the details before, during and after trial. The successful candidate will be able to provide assistance during all phases of the litigation process including conducting interviews, legal research, and document filing. This position is ideal for recent law school graduates who have passed the Florida Bar or new Attorneys who are interested in gaining experience in Personal Injury. Base salary, annual bonus and additional benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-claim investigations, legal research and initial case assessments
  • Draft pleadings, motions and file them with the court
  • Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics etc.)
  • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes
  • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices
  • Aid attorneys with interrogatories and other discovery requests
  • Gather relevant information from a variety of sources
  • Draft/file complaints
  • Liaise between trial teams and internal/external third parties
  • Help with jury instructions and witnesses’ preparation
  • Provide assistance with case settlements
  • Enrolling clients
  • Demand letter preparation
  • Prepare reports for weekly staff meeting

Requirements

  • Bi-lingual speaking preferred but not required (Haitian Creole and English)
  • Applicable knowledge of motions, discovery, evidence, litigation documentation, court rules and procedures, practices etc.
  • Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong writing and communication skills along with attention to detail
  • Must posses Florida Bar License
  • Microsoft Office proficient

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $55,000.00 to $60,000.00 /year
