The Assistant General Counsel provides a full range of legal advice and services. The Assistant General Counsel provides strategic advice and guidance to functional team(s). Highly skilled with broad, advanced technical experience.
Responsibilities
The Assistant General Counsel typically a Legal generalist or provides counsel in a combination of disciplines. Works with senior executives to develop and drive segment or enterprise-wide functional strategies. Advises one or more areas, programs or functions and provides recommendations to senior executives on matters of significance, and as an advanced subject matter expert competent to work at very high levels in multiple knowledge and functional areas across the enterprise.
In the Law Department, we have just established a new cross-functional practice group that supports all clinical operations, including Conviva, Home Health, the CDO, Joint Ventures, Humana at Home, and technology, including digital, privacy, and other consumer-facing technologies. This role is a key member of the leadership team of that practice group, in which we are working collaboratively within the Law Department and with our business and compliance partners to create a truly integrated healthcare system. Accordingly, the expectation is that this role will not only bring expertise and experience in managing the particular Conviva practices, but will also advise on the larger Enterprise integrated health and technology strategy and implementation.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctorate degree from a ABA accredited school law school
3 - 10 years of related experience
Active membership in a state bar association
Strong legal writing and analytical skills
Ability to work independently under general supervision and in team settings
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
