Ms. Amber Mannings is an extraordinary young lady. She overcame many extreme obstacles including abuse and homelessness in the pursuit of higher education; yet she rose above it all. She received a scholarship for her undergraduate studies and is a recent graduate of FIU. Ms. Mannings will be starting law school at FIU this fall. Gwen S. Cherry Black Women Lawyers Association is proud to announce her as our Book Award recipient for 2019.
